Custom invitation design by Papier by Judy. What kind of invitation would I design for this you ask? Well a beautiful lucite acrylic slab mirroring the colder winter season, very reminiscent of a sheet of ice! Details laser etched in romantic fonts. And what Christmas season would be complete without it all tucked away in a beautifully presented box? Hand assembled exterior box, silk and organza flower with beading and sparkling details. Complete with gold ribbon and hand painted gold edging.

If these images on the blog aren’t enough for you, visit this video link HERE to view the setup in action!
Thank you to the amazing cast of vendors. The collaboration turned into a stellar event!

Published: Wedluxe Magazine Glitterati Style File – Royal Blue

Trying to imagine what your wedding would look like with a deep rich colour? Consider royal blue. Royal blue… It is said to have been invented by Millers in Rode, Somerset, a consortium of which won a competition to make a dress for the British queen.

This rich and beautiful colour was paired with luscious golds for this stunning shoot.

Stationery provided by Papier by Judy. A hand wrapped gold fabric invitation which opened up into a three panelled interior with art deco elements. Exterior embellished with a golden claw hook clasp.

Classy and timeless.

Will royal blue be your colour pick?

I’m tickled pink to see a Papier by Judy product feature (Pg 98) in the inaugural issue of Traditions magazine (by Darpan Magazine). The hand crafted silk box adorned with a rhinestone buckle opens to a custom designed wedding invitation which when lifted out reveals a secret compartment to house a little something extra for your guests. This photo displays delectable macarons but I think the boxes will be a perfect delivery system for all those Indian sweets which are traditionally handed out by the couple upon delivery of wedding invitations.

Thanks to our great friends at Kunioo Photography for the product images and Gourmand Macaron & Pastries for the macarons!

#130 weddings event at Loungeworks

A unique event hosted by/at Loungeworks on March 27, 2014. Creative planners throughout Vancouver assembled their teams to create beautiful displays.

Papier by Judy jumped at the chance to participate in the 1920s themed bar put on by Nargess of Fleur de Lis Events. Some of the items I designed and provided included: tags for the Whiskey bar, coasters, bar menu (hand wrapped in gold fabric) and I think my favorite was the framed print that said “time to drink champagne and dance on the table” – we all need a night or two of that… am I right? The designs consisted of sexy matte black stock, gold foiled images (flapper girl and art deco imagery) with hints of burgundy. The end result of the whole display was a sleek and sexy bar!

To see the full post up on the Real Weddings Magazine website, visit HERE. It will give you a glimpse of the various themes and styles used by each group and full vendor credits so you can connect with all these amazing resources! You can also head down to Loungeworks at 130 West 4th Avenue, Vancouver, BC. All displays will be up for viewing until April 25, 2014.

Thank you Butter Studios for the amazing photos!

Hush Wedding Soirée 2014. Hosted by Terminal City Club.

What a fun evening! The Hush Wedding Soirée hosted by Terminal City Club on Saturday March 8, 2014 did not disappoint. It was a step away from the typical wedding show. This took place in the evening at a cocktail style event. Their two floors came to life with extravagant décor, roaming models, bubbles and bites, men’s lounge, live entertainment, and endless inspiration to help you celebrate your special day in style!

Papier by Judy was the exclusive stationery designer/provider for the show and this is what I came up with to send out for the event. This book style invitation featured blind embossing and gold foil accents on the cover. The interior had warm brown tones mirroring TCC’s brand. More gold foil accents within. The final piece turned out simple and elegant. To further tie in the fact this was a Terminal City Club affair, the pattern cover is actually a replica of wallpaper they have within the club!

Our table featured many different customs designs including the ever popular silk macaron invitation box. Papier by Judy works exclusively with Gourmand Macaron to fill these boxes with wonderfully tasty treats in a wide range of colours and flavors! Can you say YUM??!?! What a lovely and personal way to invite guests to your big day and serve them a special treat as well.

Wine fairies suspended on fabric lines poured glasses for incoming guests. Later on in the night, we were treated with a fabulous acrobatic aerial show.

A few more images of the lovely surroundings and lively interactive entertainment!

Visit my Facebook page to see more fun images of the night! Wonderful inspiration all around at a cocktail style event that gave guests lots to consider for their big event. For a full listing of all the amazing vendors who made the night possible, click HERE.

Stay tuned as we announce the winner of our draw (50 custom designed Thank You cards)

A big thank you to Kunioo for the lovely images.

Happy planning! xoxo Judy

Wedding Vows

Vows are such an important part of your big day. So much planning goes into every aspect of the wedding. Sometimes we can get lost in those details. Put some real thought into the words that will usher you into marriage. Think of the person standing next to you, what it means and how you want to express it.

I had the lovely opportunity to chat with a wedding officiant the other day and he shared a passage with me that was simply too sweet not to pass on. Perhaps you will use them in your upcoming nuptuals?

“Blessing of the Hands”

These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and full of love for you, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as you promise to love each other today, tomorrow, and forever.

These are the hands that will work alongside yours, as together you build your future.

These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, and with the slightest touch, will comfort you like no other.

These are the hands that will hold you when fear or grief fills your mind.

These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes; tears of sorrow, and tears of joy.

These are the hands that will tenderly hold your children.

These are the hands that will help you to hold your family as one.

These are the hands that will give you strength when you need it.

And lastly, these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged, will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch.

S+V. A couple in love, a few sparkly details and a whole lot of fun!

Every couple deserves a little sparkle to mark their big day! S+V had their engagement captured by Jasalyn Thorne Photographers. Check out this lovely couple and all stunning details. Full post up on Wedluxe magazine’s blog!

Papier by Judy had the honour of creating their Save the Date. The card simply read: “Vim had one question” “Sharon had one answer”. Below it was a hand folded pink envelope. With a gentle tug of the ribbon, out came the sparkly details of their big day! 6-7-14!

This print by Papier by Judy says it all. Love is all you need. Indeed. Can you see love this couple exudes?

Another simple touch were the sweet little macaron flags custom made by Papier by Judy. They incorporated a little bit of lace, soft pinks and a masculine black tone.

I am in LOVE with their engagement session! Check out the full post here.

I can hardly call it “work” when you work with such an amazing team to collaboratively bring such happiness to a couple! Congrats S+V – I can’t wait for your big day. Wishing you both a happily ever after!

Vanessa & Scott. Published: Winter and Spring 2014 Wedluxe Magazine

Vanessa & Scott. What an amazing couple and I must say, one of my favourite and most unique weddings of 2013! Their wedding was an epic event spanning two weeks with three very different setups and stationery needs.

With each event taking on a very different look and feel, I created three distinct stationery suites to match. Event #1 had an invite which was hard board mounted, hand wrapped in green silk with an insert pocket holding the invitation card. The card itself had a pink baroque background with gold foil accents. The rest of the line mirrored this garden party feel and all the florals by Flowerz and decor matched beautifully which took place in the owner’s suite at Fairmont Pacific Rim.

Event #2 was held in the York Room at Hawksworth in Rosewood Hotel Georgia. This invitation consisted of an elaborately hand assembled gold silk box. The exterior had satin ribbon and a crystal brooch. The interior had the invitation details printed with gold foil accents. Nestled beneath this was a compartment housing delicious macarons with edible gold accents. The invitation was a gift in itself and hand delivered to their guests.

Event #3 had their party extend through the night aboard the Wedding Yacht. Their guests were treated to a private fireworks display marking this special occasion. The stationery provided for this venue included entry tickets to their after party and other signage displaying bold colours of hot pink and orange in line with the tropical setup and French Riviera style!

All the luscious details are published in the Winter & Spring 2014 issue of Wedluxe Magazine. On newsstands now or view a digital copy here. Enjoy each and every beautiful detail so amazingly captured by Camille and Chadwick Bensler of Jonetsu Studios.

Papier by Judy was honoured to be brought on by principal planner Geneve McNally of DreamGroup Productions to provide stationery for Vanessa & Scott. I wish the lucky new couple precious memories and a happily ever after!

xoxo

Louis Gervais celebrates 15 years of haute cuisine!

September 26, 2013 was a fabulous night! We all gathered as Louis Gervais Fine Foods and Catering celebrated a milestone 15 years!

Of course Papier by Judy jumped at the chance to provide design services and promotional material for the event. Some of which included the Save the Date, Event Invite, Menus, and Catering Package covers.

It was wonderful to partner up with a fun and talented group of vendors including Everything Wine and Red Racer Beer who kept the drinks flowing. Audio Edge had people on their feet and moving to amazing beats!

TapSnap had people laughing over the interactive photo booths.

Both Pedersen’s Event Rentals and Flower Factory beautified the space at the wonderful Vancouver Art Gallery‘s rooftop pavilion.

Of course Louis Gervais Fine Foods and Catering provided tantalizing treats for all to savour! Olives on Tap provided delicious little nibblies

and the whole event was all beautifully documented by Butter Studios.

What an amazing night. Fun was had by ALL!
